What is the difference between RP and RMT Reiki status? I have completed Level III training but my Reiki Master doesn’t teach me to be a Master-Teacher until later in my studies. Am I an RP or RMT?
How do I become Registered? See Membership/Join in the top menu and click on Join IARP – Get Registered. For quickest service please complete the online application and you may make payment online with any major credit or debit card, echeck, or even PayPal, and then you can begin enjoying many IARP member benefits immediately. What level do I need to be in order to join? You must have completed at least Level One Reiki to join and be able to provide us with a photocopy of your certificate.
How do I get my information listed online? You must be a Registered Member of the IARP to be listed online. Once you are a member, your information is automatically listed for you and you may edit it at anytime in your Members Area. If you do not wish to be listed online for any reason then please let us know via email.
How quickly will my membership go into effect? If you join online then your membership will become effective immediately. RP designates Registered Reiki Practitioner while RMT signifies Registered Reiki Practitioner and Master Teacher. The differentiation between the two is by the levels of Reiki completed by you. (You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this option.)
How will the payment appear on my credit card statement? If you paid by credit card using our Payment Option 1 it will show on your credit card statement as "IARP LLC" or "International Association of Reiki Professionals LLC". I received an error message on my online joining form after I completed it – what should I do? This could be for a variety of reasons including if you used Payment Option 1 and used a business credit card, if your billing address or phone did not match exactly with your card, or other reasons. If you received an error message we have received your form - however you will not be able to login to the Members Area until we manually activate your membership. We will review promptly and send to you an email either letting you know that you are all set and that your membership has been manually activated, or we will send you an email with further instructions so that we may activate your membership.

Will I receive a reminder when it is time to renew? I received an error message on my renewal form after I completed it – what should I do?
I need to renew - how do I do that? To renew your IARP Membership Registration simply click here to go to Member Login and login with your email address and password to complete the Quick Renew form .Once you are logged you will see Quick Renew at your left-side Members Area menu. Click on that and it takes only 1-2 minutes to complete and your renewal will be processed right away.
If you renew early before your membership expires, your membership will be extended for a full year from your current expiry date, not the earlier date that you renew on (or 2 years if you choose the money-saving 2-year option). For example, if your membership expires on 12/28/2008 and you renew on 9/19/2008, your membership will be extended a full year from 12/28/2008 to 12/28/2009. If your membership has already expired, it will pick back up again on the day that you renew and will be extended for a full year from that date (or 2 years if you choose the money-saving 2-year option). If your membership has already expired you may still login to renew.
You must keep your membership current in order to participate in the IARP Liability Insurance Programs.
You may alternately download the IARP Membership Renewal Application at the Renew page to fax or mail instead of completing the online Quick Renew form, but the online form is much quicker and is processed right away. You may pay with MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, echeck, or even PayPal with the online Quick Renew form at Member Login.
If you have forgotten to renew and your membership has lapsed and you cannot login for any reason, please email our Member Services Department and will be happy to assist you.

If you have forgotten to renew and your membership has lapsed and you are having difficulty logging in or if you receive an error message when you try to login, please email our Member Services Department and will be happy to assist you right away.
Will I receive a reminder when it is time to renew? We will send to you a reminder via email or mail about 6-8 weeks before your renewal is due. You do not have to wait to renew until you receive a renewal notice. You can renew early and your membership will be extended for a full year from your current expiry date (or for two years if you choose the cost-savings two year membership renewal. So, for example, if you renew early before your membership expires, your membership will be extended for a full year from your current expiry date, not the earlier date that you renew on. You must keep your membership current in order to participate in the IARP Liability Insurance Program.

This could be for a variety of reasons including if you used a business credit card, if your billing address or phone did not match exactly with your card, or for other reasons. If you received an error message we have received your form, however we will need to manually activate your renewal. If your membership has already expired or lapsed, you will not be able to login to the Members Area until we manually activate your renewal. We will review promptly and send to you an email either letting you know that you are all set and that your renewal has been manually activated, or we will send you an email with further instructions so that we may activate your renewal.

How do I sign up for The Reiki Times, when is it published, and where and how do I access my copy of The Reiki Times? The Reiki Times is the official monthly online magazine of the IARP and is published at the beginning of each month. If you are an IARP member, you automatically receive an online subscription to The Reiki Times included with your membership as one of your benefits. Please login at least once a month at Member Login above at www.iarp.org to access the most current issue to read or print. After you login, you will see The Reiki Times in your left-side Members Area menu – click on that and follow instructions to read or print your personal copy. (Do not login to www.The-Reiki-Times.com as that URL is for non-member subscribers and you will not have access to your copy there.) As an IARP member, you have access to The Reiki Times in your Members Area and you will receive notice at the beginning of each month via our eNews by email when each new issue is published but it is your responsibility to login to access your copy even if you do not receive our emails, so please remember to login at least once a month so you do not miss any issues. Sorry, we cannot be responsible for missed issues if you do not access them monthly. You can purchase archived issues if you wish from www.the-reiki-times.com for a nominal fee.

As an IARP member in good standing you automatically have access to the most current issue of The Reiki Times in your Members Area online each month. The cost for this print and mail service is $49 for 12 B&W photocopied issues (about 30 pages each) sent to you monthly first class by mail. (If you reside outside of the USA the print cost is US$61 for 12 issues.) To add a print option, click here to send Member Services an email and let us know that you would like to receive a print version of TRT and we will calculate the amount due through your current membership expiry date. (For example if your current membership period expires in 6 months it would be a $24.50 cost for the next 6 print issues.) Then when it is membership renewal time, you can renew your print subscription also at the same time for an additional $49 added to your membership renewal cost. This option is on the online Quick Renew form in your Members Area and the print Renewal Form as well.

Liability Insurance Why do I need insurance to practice Reiki? Do I have to get insurance? Where do I get more information on the insurance coverage? What countries is the insurance available for? How do I sign up for insurance? I am starting a new job and need insurance now – what should I do? What is an Additional Endorsement? How to I obtain one? My landlord or employer asked to be listed on my insurance policy – how can I do this? I need to change my name, address or other information on my current insurance policy – how do I do this? I practiced a modality that isn’t listed for insurance coverage – what should I do?
Why do I need insurance to practice Reiki? The IARP Liability Insurance Program works to protect you and your practice. It is unfortunate but a reality that we live in a litigious society and it is important to protect yourself and your family should a lawsuit occur. Carrying insurance also adds a level of credibility and professionalism for Reiki. Insurance helps to recognize Reiki as professional and mainstream, raising awareness and credibility of our beautiful healing art to the traditional medical community and the general public. Hospitals and other medical settings often require practitioners to have insurance in order to practice in these environments, so taking part in the insurance program can open up new doors for you and your practice.
Do I have to get insurance? No, your participation in the insurance program is entirely optional. We do recommend that you have insurance to protect yourself and to expand the number of venues where you can practice or teach Reiki.
Where do I get more information on the insurance coverage? See Member Liability Insurance above and click on the appropriate country where you reside form the drop-down menu to learn more about the specific plans available. When you join or renew you will be sent information and applications promptly so that you may choose the best insurance plan for you if you wish to have insurance.
What countries is the insurance available for? IARP currently has insurance programs available for residents of the USA, Canada, and the UK. We are working on adding Australia insurance and will announce when this is available.
How do I obtain insurance? Register and join with IARP Professional Membership. We will then email to you within 24 hours (usually sooner) information and access to the online insurance applications, processed right away, as well as printed applications for the IARP Liability Insurance Program. You must be a current IARP member in good standing to participate in the insurance programs; insurance plans start at US$125 for the US Program, CAD$250 for the Canada Program, and £55.00 for the UK Program.
I am starting a new job and need insurance now – what should I do? Complete the online IARP membership registration form and upon receipt we will then send to you your IARP Liability Insurance Program insurance instructions email so that you may apply for insurance right away. We will send to you a link to the online insurance form (USA) and you can apply online for insurance immediately. Your insurance application will be received right away and you will receive an email confirmation right away when you purchase insurance. You are usually sent your insurance documents within a day or within a few days by email or by mail. You can print and present your confirmation email in the meantime to your employer until your documents arrive. If you are an international member and if you need insurance immediately, after you complete the IARP Membership Registration form please email Member Services to let us know that you need insurance right away and we will assist you.
What is an Additional Endorsement? How to I obtain one? An Additional Endorsement can be added to your policy, if applicable, to add your business entity, employer or landlord. In some but rare cases, landlords, spas, hospitals, etc., might request that you have them listed as an additional endorsement and we can accommodate this for you. There is a place to list Additional Endorsements on the insurance application. You may add additional endorsements any time during the year if the need arises by calling the phone number on your insurance policy.
My landlord or employer asked to be listed on my insurance policy – how can I do this? There is a place to list Additional Endorsements, if applicable, at the bottom of the insurance application. On our most popular USA insurance plan there are no added costs for up to ten additional endorsements. You may add additional endorsements any time during the year if the need arises by calling the phone number on your insurance policy.
I need to change my name, update my address or other information on my current insurance policy – how do I do this? Simply call the phone number on your Certificate of Insurance for assistance.

If there is a modality that you would like to see added for coverage consideration please send Member Services an email with information regarding that modality in the body of your email to us. What is the Personal Web Site option? IARP offers your own low-cost one-page website that acts as a brochure for your services and classes that can enhance the number of referrals that you receive. A direct link is provided to your site at your name at the Online Registry. Your site also has its own URL so you can send your potential clients directly there for information on your specific services or list your web address on your business cards and promotional materials. You can update and edit your site as often as you wish, upload pictures and there is no monthly fee. Your website will stay valid as long as you are a current member in good standing and do not let your membership lapse. See Add Services in your Members Area after you login to learn about or to add this option.
How do I get an Enhanced Listing or Personal Web Site added to my membership? You can select one or both of these at the Add Services form in your Members Area after you login. After you complete the form they will be added to your membership immediately. Your website will be linked if you have chosen and Enhanced Listing and you can create My Web Site from the Members Area if you have added a Web Site. Follow instructions at the top of the page to easily create your web site.

I am an IARP member. How can I find out if there are any other Reiki Practitioners or Teachers near me? Just enter your own zip code in the Find a Reiki Practitioner or Teacher section and it will provide you with the names of other IARP Members near you. We encourage members to reach out and meet others in their communities. Why not host a Reiki Share or get-together?
Someone I know needs a Reiki Practitioner or Teacher in their area in the USA but I don’t know their zip code – how can I find them? The locator function is Zip Code, Province or Country driven. In the USA, you will need to enter a zip code in an area that you are seeking a Reiki professional. If you do not know the zip code you can easily obtain it on the US postal service website – www.usps.com under Look up a Zip Code. Just enter the City and State that you are looking for and it will provide you with a valid zip code.
I practice a modality that isn’t listed, can I get this added? We recommend that you use the Personal Web Site feature so that you can expand on all of the services that you offer.
I see many different types of Reiki listed but I do not see one of the types that I practice. What should I do? We try to list all recognized types of Reiki, but the list keeps growing so we have included Reiki types based on the number of members that practice them. If we notice that a particular form of Reiki is becoming increasingly more popular we will add it as a separate category.
When I log into the website the printing is too large/small, difficult to read, doesn’t fill the full page, etc., why? A website will appear differently on each individual’s computer. Our programmers have tried to anticipate any problems or variations but if your computer displays our information differently it could be due to the setting you have on your computer, the age of your computer, the operating system software, and the internet browser or form of internet service you have. As much as we have attempted to accommodate everyone’s computer settings, yours might be different and therefore it may produce different results. To make your print appear larger, if you are using Internet Explorer, at the very top menu click View, then click Text Size and choose your text size. To make the page appear larger use the full screen view on your browser.
When I put my mouse over the green question mark on some of the pages to find the answer to a question, the answer block gets cut off at the right or bottom - how can I view the full answer? To view the full answer text block, simply use your scroll bar on your browser window at the right or at the bottom to scroll further to see the full page, or click the full page screen view at the top of your browsesr window. Then mouse over the answer and you should be able to see it fully.
When I try to access the site it takes a long time to load – what can I do? It may likely be that your ISP, internet service provider, is not loading our site properly for some reason. This occasionally happens with certain ISPs with other websites so it is not necessarily an IARP site issue. So, as a workaround solution that might help, go to www.google.com and type in IARP in the search engine and click enter. Click the second link that says IARP Registration. Then the site may show up more quickly on your screen. You can then navigate the site from there. If you are still having troubles contact your specific internet service provider and make them aware of the problem so you can ask them to fix whatever the issue may be with loading our site (and any other sites that may be slow-loading for you). Also please email us to let us know the browser and version you are using (i.e. Internet Explorer 7.0) and ISP (i.e. Comcast DSL) so we can be aware of patterns and try to assist from this end.
