Reiki, "universal life force energy", is a Japanese system of healing that was brought to the West in 1937.  It promotes balance and healing by working with the electromagnetic and subtle energy fields that surround the body.  When a client comes for a session, the practitioner performs an assessment which includes a brief interview to determine what support the client is looking for.

Clients are fully clothed: loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.  Sessions can be performed with the client seated or lying down and can last from 60 to 90 minutes.  During the session, the practioner's hands are placed on or above the body.  Clients leave the sessions feeling relaxed and energized.

Reiki can complement Western medical treatments and therapies. It does not replace professional medical evaluation, treatment and therapeutic modalities.  Past clients have sought support in the following areas:

• Pre and Post Surgical Support
• Pre and Post Chemo Support
• Weight Loss
• General Well-Being
