Reiki is a Japanese healing art developed in the 1800’s. Reiki healing involves laying hands on or near the body to comfort, relieve pain and heal. The word Reiki literally means life force energy. Every living thing in the Universe has a life force energy flowing through it. The Reiki healing energy is channeled through the hands of the practitioner into the body and aura. Reiki heals on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual to balance all of the chakras and help return to a more balanced state of body, mind and spirit. Reiki can be given from a distance, and is also useful when directed to situations or circumstances. Reiki can aid in the healing of emotional traumas and PTSD.

Sherri has been an animal lover her whole life. Currently, she has four dogs, three cats, too many horses and not enough cows. The year of 2007 was a very challenging year health wise for many of her animals and family, as well as, herself. These challenges prompted her to seek out the alternative healing modality of Reiki. Energy healing has been very beneficial to her animals and family. Her dog Millie, a blue heeler, (hence Blue Healer Reiki) suffered a horrific road accident leaving her with multiple broken bones and a severe laceration. She endured six surgeries in four weeks. Once Millie started receiving Reiki treatments her progress quickened. She climbed the four steps into the house on her first treatment and it was given from a distance. Sherri’s hands tend to get very warm when she gives a Reiki treatment and the animals seem to like it, and people too. An animal Reiki treatment usually lasts from 20 minutes to and hour. The animal usually lets it be known when it’s done. Sherri practices equally as much on people. A human treatment usually lasts from 45 to 90 minutes. Sherri received her Reiki Master Certification from the Meta Institute in Edina Minnesota. She is a member of the International Association of Reiki practitioners.

When you share your life with a special animal companion friend it can feel very devastating when you lose them. This is very natural when you share love, time and space together. As you and your animal are together, you are sharing energy with each other and your auras become intertwined. You feel like there is a hole in your heart and soul. There is also a hole in your aura where your beloved used to be. Reiki can repair the hole in your aura and make it whole again. Receiving a Reiki treatment for your grief can be very comforting and reconnect you with your animal in spirit. Reiki can ease the grieving process and shorten the time it takes to recover from your loss. It can comfort you in knowing that you still have your beloved animal companion with you in an invisible, but, very real presence. Reiki can also help you and your beloved animal friend if you have to make the decision to help their transition over to the next world. Reiki can benefit with the loss of any loved one, human or animal.

Sherri will treat police officers, soldiers and their families with physical or emotional injuries at no charge in gratitude for their service.

My dog Schnooper was the first dog to receive Reiki from Sherri and he loved it from the beginning. He would follow her around and stand by in hopes of getting some more Reiki. In the spring of 08 he was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor (cancer). Sherri immediately began giving him and myself and my husband Reiki from a distance. I believe it really made a difference in the stress levels involved in dealing with such a problem. It was several weeks before he could get scheduled for surgery. Our terrier-mix dog Maggie was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in March 2009. X-rays confirmed significant heart enlargement on both sides, which were severely compressing her windpipe, making it difficult for her to breathe. Our vet said this was not a curable condition, but medications could make her more comfortable with the remaining time she had left, and at 15 yrs. old, her life span was very limited. She did respond to the medications initially and the coughing was much improved, but after 6 months, the vet said her heart irregularity was becoming more pronounced and she was worse than initially diagnosed. He said medications would now have limited affect and to prepare ourselves for the worst in the near future, as she was now living on "borrowed time."

His prognosis in early August was "poor, extremely guarded condition" Within a week she suffered a seizure and we noticed a huge decline in her energy level and inability to stand very long. She was no longer interested in eating and refused to take her meds for days at a time. A week later her coughing became so severe and her heart was so stressed, I literally thought she would die in my arms. This is when I told Sherri of the situation and she offered to send Maggie long-distance Reiki every night. Within 36 hours we noticed a tremendous difference in Maggie. She now seemed alert and interested in eating and begging for food and treats once again. After a few days of Reiki, she began running up stairs and chasing our other dog in the yard, something we had not seen her do for 8 months We were in absolute disbelief in her behavior. She no longer slept most of the day and the light was back in her eyes; she interacted with us and followed us around without having to be carried everywhere. This has continued for the 6 weeks Sherri has been sending Maggie Reiki and her success has been consistent -- there has been no further decline, only progressive health.

My husband and I definitely feel Maggie is alive today because of the healing Reiki she receives from Sherri. We have tried no other healing modalities or medications. We are completely convinced the Reiki has made the difference in Maggie's energy and quality of life.

She will be 16 yrs. old in 2 weeks and we are so grateful she is living happy, comfortable life once again.
